- Mature, practicing Catholic 67 or under
- Tolerance and ability to get along
- U.S. Citizen or valid U.S. VISA
- Good health
- Free of financial and family responsibilities

| THE FRANCISCAN COVENANT PROGRAM A Lay Volunteer Program of the Province of Saint Barbara |
After we receive a completed application, we check references, background and then set up an initial interview. If
the candidate looks like a good fit for the program, we get information to the Friar Communities that have
Covenant openings and set up site interviews where appropriate. The candidate stays with the community for
about 3 days, getting to know Friars, the other Covenant members and the staff while experiencing the life, the
ministries, the prayer and liturgy of the host community. After the visit concludes, there is a period of discernment
that can be followed by an invitation to join the community for a year.
Covenant members work in full time ministry. We make every attempt to match your gifts and talents with the
needs of the communities. We have had Covenant members who minister in carpentry, bookkeeping, gift shops,
reception, health care, retreats, museum docent, management, cooking, maintenance, hosting, hospitality, service
to the poor, gardening and much more.
